Miscellaneous Actions Handled by Steve McNichols
•Obtained a judgment in excess of a million dollars, including attorneys fees and costs in an elder abuse case against family members who kidnapped and hid an elderly relative and pilfered her estate.
•Represented country clubs in actions involving discipline of members, sale of membership and various contract actions with vendors and suppliers.
•Obtained release of conservatee from conservatorship that had been imposed upon her by attorneys many years earlier. The probate court had awarded over $7 million dollars in fees to these attorneys. The Council on Judicial Performance publicly reprimanded the trial judge after the conservatorship was terminated.
•As a criminal prosecutor, represented the People for the State of California in over 45 jury trials which ranged from death penalty cases to driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
•Represented numerous plaintiffs in bad faith, breach of contract and declaratory relief actions against insurance companies for failure to pay claims under general liability, officers and directors, errors and omissions, and life insurance policies.
•Represented parties who were beaten and abused by police officers.
•Represented real estate and construction licensees in administrative proceedings by the Department of Real Estate and Contractors State License Board.
•Represented various consultants in actions for fees and defended claims of malpractice and breach of contract for architects, financial consultants, accountants, engineers and attorneys.
•Represented plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death actions. Defended first parties in personal injury and wrongful death actions.
